A little something ...9/1/2017 Most of the time when I go overseas to a developing country I buy my gifts I'll be giving out to the people there at the local stores. It supports the country's economy and it's culturally appropriate. But sometimes you can't find the stuff you're looking for and it's good to get it at home and bring it over. Case in point: these really great solar powered lanterns donated by Canadian Tire in the Thunder Centre in Thunder Bay. When I told the manager, James, about how wonderful it would be for the kids to use them so they could do their homework late at night he agreed. I told him I could picture all the kids huddled in a hut, around the light, working away on their studies and he thought it was a beautiful sight.
Going to give them to the reps with World Vision so they can give them out. Looking forward to this! The gift of pursuing an education. Yep. A good thing.
